Max go later in season 1 and was promptly forgotten by all the characters . She meet her goal in episode 10 when Ramse sell the team . Ramse , who felt that his own son ’s being would be efface if Cole ’s mission to convert the past succeeded , decided to take action against Project Splinter . He tried to put on access to Jones ' machine , but was held up by Max . Determined to ensure that his Word had a future , Ramse shot Max and splintered to 1987 . By the clip Cole was able to get there , it was too late . Max could n’t be save .
This was what take off Ramse down the route to being a baddie , and though he later felt guilt for some of his actions — such as when he thought he killed Cole — but he never seemed to repent what happen to Max . Also , Max ’s death gave Cole a cause to pursue and pour down Ramse , but at the end of the time of year 1 finale , Cole decide to forgive Ramse and put the past behind them . Cole and Ramse were able to renew their friendly relationship in12 Monkeysseason 2 , and by this time , Max ’s death no longer seemed important , specially since Cole no longer held it against Ramse .
Though numerous dead characters returned via time travel throughout the series , the show did n’t find anything else to do with Max until the12 Monkeysseries finale . When Titan splinter to before the issue of season 1 , Cole and his friend receive help in the final battle against the Witness from the West VII ( include Deacon and Max , prior to their deaths ) . But though Max did get a cameo in the finale , she was n’t present in the scene that revealedeveryone ’s place in the new timeline . Even so , the abbreviated cameo still serve as a nice , final nod to a forgotten friend .
