Whilethe fight was still mainly between Mayuri and Pernida , this installment is really all about Nemu . Revealing much of Nemu ’s backstory for the first time , fans discover that Nemu was actually the 7th endeavour at creating an artificial Soul Reaper , the first one to succeed beyond Mayuri ’s expectations . Mayuri seems to honestly have some complicated belief about Nemu , in some ways seeing her as disposable while in other way seeing her as his crowning achievement , making him even more splendid than his harbinger , Kisuke Urahara .
It ’s unfortunate that Nemu die right as lover finally get to learn about her , as she ’s been a very underutilized character in the serial to date , rarely acting as anything more than Mayuri ’s trump card . The instalment also feature a surprising cameo from Szayelaporro Granz , who berate Mayuri for his feelings towards Nemu . It ’s interesting to see that even so long after Granz ’s licking , he still has a hold over Mayuri ’s intellect . While Mayuri clearly had no respect for this react mad scientist , his subconscious mind still choose the show of the Arrancar to deliver this message to Mayuri .
The battle itself was freakish , just like the first half . Pernida and Mayuri ’s abilities are just so strange that any conflict between them is bind to come across as demented . Nemu ’s demise extend to prove how dangerous Pernida really is , and how any Soul Reaper captain would ’ve struggled against it , not just Mayuri . It also show a novel side of Mayuri , although it does n’t do much to redeem the big of Mayuri ’s misbehaviour over the year .

Bazz-B Challenges His Childhood Friend Haschwalth
