Throughout the interview , theCobra Kaitrio breaks down the challenging aspects of creating multiple raw teams from across the world as Miyagi - Do Karate arrives in Barcelona towards the goal of part 1 . Cobra Kai Creators Preview What Is In Store For Season 6 Part 2
“This was something that was a big undertaking with people from the beginning of our process.”
Screen Rant : One matter that I really bed look that does n’t give away too much , is the fact that we ’re seeing all these dissimilar dojos and culture from all over the macrocosm . What was the most challenging aspect of creating all these new type , all these new moral force , but also looking at how karate is reflect in the rest of the world as they all come together ?
Jon Hurwitz : This was a huge task for everybody , from our filmmaking summons , from starting in the writer ' room with our radical talk about , ' Okay , how many squad are there going to be ? Which nation should they be from ? Which characters are we go to be focusing on ? ' We want this to be more than just Miyagi - Do versus Cobra Kai for a change . We desire this to be something where there are unexampled scrapper that are involved in a big way on the show . Then there are fighter that are need in a few fights here and there , but they need to have enough involvement with our graphic symbol that we remember who those fibre are . There was so much going on with that , so when we ’re planning the dissimilar variety of combat , it was thinking about , from a character stand , where everybody is , from a tournament standpoint , doing something that ’s different than you ’ve ever seen before .
Because we wanted this to not be the All Valley all over again . we wanted to have all sort of surprising events , with working with our costume intriguer , Frank Helmer , on 16 different gis and different dojos , and make them each very specific to the region that they ’re from , and come up with names for each of them that felt dead on target to them . To even forge with our stunt coordinator , speak to them about the different kinds of soldierlike arts that would bring some specificity to paladin from each of the different rural area , to working with our composer , to making certain that while certain fighter aircraft from different dojos are fighting , they have their own themes that are unique to themselves and their earthly concern . This was something that was a swelled undertaking with people from the commencement of our process to the very end of the process , and it ’s something that we could n’t be more proud .

I ’ve always loved the stunt coordination on this show . Each time of year , you are always outdoing each other from the previous seasons by raising the wager and setting up the fights otherwise . You ’re dealing with the biggest tournament of all clip in karate , so how much did you get to look back in old seasons , ' Okay , how do we go from this up to here ? '
Josh Heald : We are fortunate and bless to work with Ken Barefield and Don Lee , the good in the business in terms of the maintenance , the attention , not just the fight design , but the ethnic tending to making certain that that each dojos ' karate or martial humanistic discipline is link in a grounded , believable and bona fide manner to where those martial arts come from . The idea of arrange on a world tournament we started buttering them up in season 5 as we were laying the foundation for this . So they were call back all the manner from late 2021 into the beginning of 2024 when we filmed this , in terms of what we might write , and how they might cogitate about this . Not only are we thankful and lucky to have that stunt team , but our role player are biz for all of that . They fall in on the weekend , they stay late , they come in ahead of time , they use their lunch hours to go to the dojo that we keep at the stage which , a senshi in his own right , Master Tony direct them just round the clock , there is stunt activeness happening . And when the cameras wind , it ’s the opportunity to hopefully present something new , and salute something unexpected , and present something really cinematic , that was everyone ’s goal .
Cobra Kai’s Hayden Schlossberg On Seeing The Evolution Of The Cast’s Physical Training
“You can play out whole scenes with the actual actors without doubling them.”
Having now seen them grow up through the show - seeing them now when they ’re come in , they ’re learning all these techniques . How is it for you guys ? How rewarding is it for you to see,‘Oh my God , some of these things that they are learning now is becoming so much easier for them . ‘I sexual love that we have a lot of thespian that , of course , they can act , that ’s great . But they really seem to learn all these fighting styles very course . Talk about that , as we get a little sentimental for the final season .
Hayden Schlossberg : dead , yeah , it is an amazing feeling . There ’s so many feelings that you have when you see these role player get ripe at martial arts season by season , all culminating in this final season , where they ’re all at their ripe . Some of them are more gymnastic than others , but all of them pretty much started with no experience in this world . So to see by season 6 , this journeying that they ’ve been on , and project these fight sequences and the skills that they have , think back to the first season , where you would have to conceal sure face of performance and use stunt double . Now you’re able to play out whole view with the genuine actors without doubling them . It ’s an awesome feeling .
On the maudlin side , you realise this journey that you ’ve been on , it ’s something that ’s really special . We ’ve made movie before , all three of us , and this is something that you really only get on a hit show that goes on for multiple seasons , and you see this evolution , and you cognize it ’s something that ’s just right there in front of you . You ’re just like , ' Oh my God , did you just see what so and so did ? ' Whether it ’s someone like Mary Mouser , who , in another world , could have probably never had a fight successiveness in anything in her career , now being at a place where she ’s just embrace the warlike arts so much and the practice and the training so much that she could be doing these amazing thing that you never would have discover [ in ] season one . You ca n’t help but feel her own excitement on these new science that she ’s find out on the show , but also just not sentimentally , just as filmmakers and creators , it ’s just awesome to now have these resources and to have actors who are able to take thing to the next level .
There ’s moments with Tanner [ Buchanan ] , who ’s one of our more gymnastic actors on the show that are as amazing as anything we ’ve seen . He ’s experience to that place . I feel like we ’re Stallone and Schwarzenegger got where , ' Wow , you could use him in some amazing way , ' and it just precede to a great product and astonishing vibe on the set .
Cobra Kai Has Proper Satisfying Arcs For The Characters Back Home Before Series Finale
“Some get more real estate than others, but for all of them, we’re bringing to some form of conclusion.”
From what we know about part 2 , we know that we ’re not go to spend a pile of time with the fibre that are back home . Is it fair to say for people who will be read this before part 2 comes out , that we will possibly get a little bit more of them in part 3 of giving them their concluding arcs before we wrap up the serial ?
Jon Hurwitz : All of the characters for the concluding 10 sequence that you ’re seeing , there ’s the middle 5 and the back 5 . We have an enormous cast . We have probably somewhere between 15 - 25 character that you ’re emotionally invested in one path or another . We have these final 10 episodes . we have the in-between 5 that are coming out November 15 , and then the final 5 [ that ] we have to land the story for probably 25 different character . Some get more actual estate than others , but for all of them , we ’re bringing to some form of ending and leaving them hopefully in spot where maybe you ’re able to see some of these characters again in the time to come . But yeah , even though not everyone is at the Sekai Taikai , you will see more from those graphic symbol as well .
