Played By Zosia Mamet

Pampinea tolerate out as the most unlikable role inThe Decameron , with her horrible position , entitlement , selfishness , and greed set her asunder . Unlike other unlikable characters , she ’s destitute of humor . Her only moments of levity prow from the consultation ’s laughter at her satirical - like rich - soul behavior . The character parade zero compassionateness or worry for others , particularly her retainer , Misia . Paminea cover her abominably , demanding inordinate and murderous tasks . Like an abusive partner , she only shows Misia praise or empathy when she needs to reap her back in .

On top of all this , she ’s even tyrannical towards the other nobles , lying and cheat to keep the Francisco Villa under her control . This includesPampinea lie about being pregnant and seek to steal a child from his mother , actions that importantly affect the animation of those involved and the overall plot . Her actions make it impossible to offer her an iota of empathy . Ultimately , it ’s satisfying when she pall at theend ofThe Decameron , as it brings a sense of Justice Department and closure to the history .

9Tindaro

Played By Douggie McMeekin

Next to Pampinea , the most odious theatrical role inThe Decameronis Tindaro . He behaves like a peckish tyke throughout most of the series , his irritating , falter , and incompetent nature get to him unvoiced to tolerate . It ’s rough that his doctor is submit vantage of him , but that does n’t alter his detestable behavior . The most despicable aspect of his personality is his rampant misogynism .

While it initially seems like he ’s just rude towards everyone , Tindaro ’s hatred of fair sex becomes more manifest after he gets engaged to Licisca . He treat her like an object , controlling how she interact with others . He then only sees Stratilia for what she can volunteer him , namely kinky sex and a Word . Tindaro only lands second worse because of two reasons . Firstly , Pampinea is that bad . second , he delays the mercenary so the radical can escape .

8Sirisco

Played By Tony Hale

Though he seems kind and welcoming ab initio , Sirisco progressively becomes one of the most unsympathetic character inThe Decameron . His greed is just as insatiable as the Lord , attach himself to whomever he believes will give him power . Whenever he gain his alliance wo n’t benefit him , he move on to the next person . This conduct becomes even more thwarting when Arriguccio and his booster welcome him into their home , but he manipulates them into go after the villa .

If he put their needs first when they bring back to the villa , it would come across as caring and a righteous desire for DoJ . alas , when forced to decide between his lust for power and saving Arriguccio and his friends , he refuses to mind to the few hoi polloi who actually like about him . This make him barely better than the Lord , who he consider as less righteous .

7Filomena

Played By Jessica Plummer

However , Filomena ’s character undergo a significant transmutation towards the final stage ofThe Decameron . She becomes more empathetic , patient , and affectionate . She even defend Misia , albeit after starting a romance with her . The doubt uprise whether her change in deportment is enough to warrant forgiveness . Because many of her action mechanism are still self - serving , she still descend into the unlikable category , though higher than others .

6Misia

Played By Saoirse-Monica Jackson

Like her girl Filomena , Misia is a complex graphic symbol inThe Decameronwho is hard to get it on or detest wholly . She do in base and homicidal ways at the behest of her master . Any time she test to get out from underneath the stately ’s thumb , Pampinea reels her back in . This create a complicated moral force where she acts in ways that do n’t align with her ethics , like stab Ruggiero . Sadly , Misia also finds her ego - Charles Frederick Worth in the favourable reception of the person who ache her the most .

It ’s challenging to watchMisia fall back into Pampinea ’s grasp inThe Decameronbecause nobody deserves to be in that kind of insalubrious , codependent moral force . Misia ’s behaviors are a sobering monitor that people ca n’t take tone to breach innocent until they ’re quick . All thing consider , Misia is in the eye of the coterie in terms of likability due to her pure intentions but destructive behavior .

Netflix ’s The Decameron used a mixture of onsite locations in Italy and studio sets to produce chivalric Florence , Italy , and the Villa Santa estate .

5Stratilia

Played By Stratilia

The character Stratilia is the mainstay of the Netflix telly show , holding everything at Villa Santa together . She ’s levelheaded , observant , and relatively still . She has an omniscient quality , apparently seeing and knowing everything that snuff it on with the rest of the characters . Unfortunately , Stratilia is the paradigm of a wallflower in that she intermingle into the setting instead of remain firm out . She ’s so unnoticeable sometimes that she does n’t elicit strong positive or disconfirming emotions .

All of Stratilia ’s relationships feel developing , including the one with her child . This makes her seem unapproachable and unrelatable . The only moments inThe Decameronthat make her slightly more likable than neutral occur in the last two instalment when she tries to take over the Doroteo Arango for her son . It ’s angelical to see a female parent tutelage for her shaver even when situations are n’t ideal .

4Neifile

Played By Lou Gala

Though she start out an insufferable and holier - than - thou character , Neifile becomes an pleasurable and relatable character before herdeath inThe Decameron . Over the path of a few episodes , she goes through a faith crisis , face questions like why God would give her a high libido but reject sex and why God would allow the infestation .

While it causes her some emotional distress , Neifile ’s faith crisis enables her to connect with the citizenry around her and her sexuality in a fashion that she could n’t before . This interpretation of Neifile is less judgmental , much funnier , and more unhinged . The nihilism countenance her to adopt her sexual urge alternatively of burying them . finally , she finds peace in acknowledge that she has always had doubts about God , which is an excellent resolution to her character arc before she succumbs to the Black Plague .

3Dioneo

Played By Amar Chadha-Patel

Though he is a scoundrel who poisons his patient , Dioneo is one of the most entertaining characters in The Decameron . He gives off medieval Casanova energy , willing to flirt and get sexually involved with anything that move . Dioneo fits in with both the nobility and the servants because his job rides the line between the mellow class and the low social class . This makes him gratifying when interacting with all the other characters .

He and Panfilo are by far the funniest characters regarding being laughed with alternatively of laugh at . The moment that sticks out as the most hilarious is when he ’s instructing everyone on how to get disembarrass of the pestilence by waving around onion plant and shouting . at last , he is n’t the most likable , not because of faulting in his character but because of the strengths of Licisca and Panfilo .

2Licisca

Played By Tanya Reynolds

Because of the strong COVID-19 fable throughoutThe Decameron , Licisca is the most significant and relatable case for the median spectator . She does n’t have the riches and privileges of the nobles . Unlike the other servants , she does n’t forget her post in the world , though , get to her empathetic to those who have less than her . Licisca does n’t tolerate disrespect because of her warm sense of morality and Justice Department . The moment when she gives a starving man bread sets the tone for her character throughoutThe Decameron .

It ’s wanton to recreate Licisca on as she infiltrates the magnanimousness , pretending to be one of them so that she can have an well-situated spirit . However , it ’s also gratifying when she reaches her breaking point , resolve to leave rather than remain with the unacceptable nobles . In the tenacious test , she ’s the perfect consultation stand - in .

1Panfilo

Played By Karan Gill

Because of his confidence , charm , and fiend - may - care position , Panfilo is the most likeable lineament inThe Decameron . He may be greedy like all the other Lord , but he does n’t cross societal moral boundaries to get what he want . It also does n’t hurt that his actions only deliberately ache Pampinea , an unbearable tyrant . Panfilo is also the only noble someone who is likable from beginning to finish , being straight-from-the-shoulder about who he is as a somebody ( minus his gender ) . He does n’t need a redemption arc like the others .

Additionally , he ’s one of the few really witty and funny characters , rather than being written in comical condition . His light-minded and unhinged reaction to brokenheartedness is also uproarious to check . Lastly , he contain a genuine love for Neifile that ’s heartwarming to see in a show that ’s so cynical about love and romance . It does n’t count that they ’re in a marriage of convenience inThe Decameron ; Panfilo still treats her with honey , patience , and kindness .
