In the original plot line , Peter was willing to give his and MJ ’s futures just to relieve his senior aunt , who would have been heartbroken if she ’d screw Peter did that . Plus , other plot line have prove that a secret identity can be restore in a multitude of other elbow room ( Skrull help , Doctor Strange spell , the Purple Children , electroshock therapy . ) , making a literal raft with the devil wholly unneeded .
