The Musketeerskeeps up its brisk activity - packed pace with this calendar week ’s episode , entitle ' The Good Soldier ' . After a failed character assassination attempt upon the Duke ’s arrival , Aramis is reunited with a former Musketeer ( Marsac ) he thought long gone .
A whodunit , mix in with some undercover agent and espionage goodness should be enough to carry any hour of television , especially with a talented plaster bandage such as this ; however , the meat of this week ’s episode can be encounter within the form of address itself . What does it mean to be a good soldier in a humankind control by an all - hefty crowned head , like King Louis ? This charge of being a Musketeer for queen and country labor Marsac insane , as his pursuit for vengeance became his undoing . If it was n’t for the help of his admirer , Aramis would have shared the same portion as his fallen associate .
position the plot aside for a bit , let ’s talk aboutThe Musketeerscontinuing succeeder at featuring some of the near role - actors of any serial publication presently run . This week , we ’re graced with veteran Vincent Regan ( 300 ) , who plays the power hungry Duke of Savoy . Regan ’s sinister eye and his constant fierce nature make him the double-dyed antagonist for the boys in low-spirited ( well , minus d’Artagnan who is still a Musketeer in training ) . The more surprising of the two new case featured would have to be the gorgeous English - deport Phoebe Fox ( Black Mirror ) . Her CV is not nearly as impressive as Regan ’s , yet she easily hold her own as Savoy ’s married woman .
The twist at the end reveal her to be a undercover agent for France was a nice touch and hopefully , that means we ’ll see more of Fox as the season progresses . Likelast calendar week ’s instalment , ' The Good Soldier ' is more of a self - arrest history , but that does n’t mean Divine Adrian Hodges and his crew have forgotten about the bounteous motion-picture show for their first time of year .
Constance and d’Artagnan ’s budding family relationship appear to be a part of that large moving picture . Luke Pasqualino ( Snowpiercer ) and Tamla Kari ( Being Human ) on - projection screen chemistry is superb . Their romanticist pastime in each other is forever tantalize , but not in a patronizing direction . It would be nice if Constance ’s husband was have more often , so we could get a upright theme of what d’Artagnan is up against .
This was a upright standalone episode forThe Musketeers , but Milady de Winter ’s presence was drop , as she is one of the more dynamic characters . We ’re nearly half way through this first season , so what have you savor most about this exciting new serial on BBC America ?
